Accident claims NLO player, 4 injured

Nationwide League has been thrown into mourning as a result of a fatal accident involving Abkama Football Club of Borno which claimed the life of a player, Umaru Musa Bature and four other players are seriously injured and they are currently receiving treatment at the Government General Hospital, Darazo, Bauchi State.

The accident occurred on their way to honour the Nationwide League division two game against Gombe Lions. The vehicle had a punctured tyre at the rear thereby making the vehicle to somersault into the bush.

The league secretariat has mandated all the clubs in the league to maintain a minute silence across all the match venues this weekend in honour of the late player.

The club involved in the accident need not be bothered about the cost implication of treating the injured players due to the fact that the Nationwide League ensured that all the clubs fully insured their players before the commencement of the season through Standard Alliance Insurance Plc, who are partners of the NLO.

Meanwhile, all the matches in the Nationwide League Division Two  G1 where Abkama FC features have been suspended due to the accident, as every football stakeholder at the cradle of football in Nigeria wishes the injured players speedy recovery and pray to the Almighty God to give the management of the club, family of the late player, friends and fans the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Thank you.
