NLO Coerver coaching course is not a waste – KJ United Boss

NLO Coerver coaching course is not a waste – KJ United Boss

With over 60 grassroot club coaches at the Three – Day NLO Coerver coaching course that ended on Thursday in Abuja, the chief coach of KJ United in the Nationwide League One (NLO), Shanding Gambo has said that he was glad that he took part in the course and he can attest to the fact that it was not a waste of time, energy and resources.

Speaking to the sporting press in Abuja at the end of the course, Gambo said that NLO Coerver coaching course gave him another dimension to coaching and it is an added advantage to other coaching certificates in his cabinet and there is no end to learning in ever dynamic and changing world of football.

“ In 2009. that was when i did my NIS coaching course, then i did CAF Licence C coaching course last year and i was also one of the coaches at the La –Liga coaching clinic early this year. In all of these , i can say that NLO Coerver coaching course is a complete dimension to coaching. It is a complete new experience of learning tecnhiques and tactics and i am glad that all the coaching courses i have done, gave me something different to learn as a coach”, Gambo said.

Gambo tutored his players in KJ United to win all their matches in their group to qualify for the knockout play –off, but unfortunately lost the promotion ticket after they crumbled 2-1 to Aklosendi International of Lafia. However, the grassroot gaffer said that every game is a learning experience and he hopes to imbibe what he has learnt in Coerver course when the team open camp to begin their pre – season preparation.

In a related development, Stephen Moga, the chief coach of Aklosendi International of Lafia has said that the Coerver coaching course was never a jamboree and any serious coach will go back to his club to impact the knowledge gained in the course on the players in order to nurture and develop them to future stars , which is the main purpose of the course.

“ It was a well deserved coaching course. To be frank, Coerver coaching course was not a jamboree. I learnt so many things about coaching too numerous to mention and most importantly is the fact that i did not miss this course for whatever reason. I look forward to working with my players on what i have learnt under Rainel Woerdings of Coerver coaching course,” Moga said.
