Onazi advocates more sponsorship for Nationwide League
By Abiola Shodiya

Former My People FC player, who is now the vice captain of the Super Eagles, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi, has heaped praises on the Nationwide League One (NLO) in their stride to develop the round leather game in the country,  calling for more sponsorship to help it grow.

Onazi, who recognized the role the amateur league played in his football career during his formative day’s at My People FC of Lagos, wants more support and sponsors for the grassroots league so as to encourage the player and bring more benefits to the owners of the clubs at the grassroot level in Nigeria , as he noted that they are indeed the football stakeholders in the country.

“Well, we still have a lot to do in our leagues but I really thank the new people taking charge of the league; they are doing amazingly well, but we still need more sponsors and investors in the league to make it grow,” Onazi said.
