Promotion for Vet Rovers not negotiable – Bentu

Promotion for Vet Rovers not negotiable – Bentu

Despite losing to Supreme Court FC of Abuja 2-1 last weekend, Austin Bentu, the tall and energetic striker of Vet Rovers FC of Jos has said that no team in Group G2 of the Nationwide League One NLO can stop Vet Rovers in their quest to gain promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) at the end of the 2016/17 season.

Vet Rovers FC are currently topping the group with 12 points after playing  five games and Bentu is of the firm opinion that everything is working out fine for the team irrespective of their loss to  the Apex Boys in Abuja and they are on course to fulfill their ambition of playing in the NNL next season.

“We are still much alive in our ambition to gain promotion to the NNL and as far we are concern, our promotion is not negotiable . We lost  to Supreme Court FC last weekend, but we are still topping the group.” Bentu said.

He, however admitted that the matches are very difficult to win in the Nationwide league and Supreme Court FC is their most difficult opponent this season. Although they defeated the Apex Boys 2-0 in Jos, it was a very difficult game and the reverse fixture in Abuja was equally very difficult , as they lost 2-1 away.

“ We have played very difficult matches and we have been able to gather 12 points from five games. I must admit that Supreme Court was very difficult to play both in Jos and Abuja. We are glad that we have lost our focus in winning the promotion ticket to the NNL at the end of the season” he said.

Vet Rovers FC will trade tackles with FC Minda of Makurdi in the next game of the season next weekend.
